Some of my short stories...among other things. People don't read anymore - I find it tragic. But if ever you find yourself killing time, on a train, bus, or plane...take a peek, you may find that reading isn't so bad after all. :)

I don’t understand the big deal. Only Black people make a difference in skin tone within the same race a big ass deal. So what if someone has more melanin than you? How does that make them ugly? You’re morals are all kinds of fucked up. Forreal, your pigmentation doesn’t define…

Roxanne
This is the second time Roxanne’s car had broken down in one month. Unsure of what to do after calling her boyfriend and getting no response, Roxanne reclined the driver’s seat and began to send him a text. For the hell of it she included her best friend and his best friend as recipients. Someone was bound to see her smoke signal.
The drumming of the rain against her car began to lull her to sleep. Just as the rest of Roxanne’s body started to relax, there was a tap on her window. James, her boyfriend’s best friend, had come to her rescue. She rolled her window down and laughed, “James, always my hero. I’m not sure what’s wrong with my car this time but I’m sure you can figure it out.” Roxanne let go of a weak smile and popped the hood. “So where is Marcus? Did he call you?” Roxanne yelled through the cracked window.
“I’m gonna guess that you need a jump or somn,” James laughed. “I really don’t know what else to do for you. Worst case scenario you’ll have to leave the car here and we’ll have it towed to my uncle’s shop tomorrow.” Roxanne started to grow frustrated and restless while they tried to jump start her car. After several tries she hopped into his car and off they went.
The ride was quiet for a while when Roxanne decided to repeat her question about the whereabouts of her boyfriend Marcus. This time Roxanne was certain that James was ignoring her question because he awkwardly shifted her attention to the song on the radio. Instead of answering his question Roxanne decided to try another approach. “I’m hungry, James. Let’s go eat.”
James
As they pulled into the parking space in front of the restaurant, the rain started to slow down while James’ heart beat increased. He hated lying to Roxanne to cover for Marcus. It’s not like he is particularly interested in her, but he knows a great catch when he sees it and in his eyes, Roxanne is perfect. She stands at about five ten with gorgeous almond shaped eyes and chestnut colored skin. She’s also set to graduate in a year with degrees in art and chemistry. She’s also funny and understanding. Roxanne instantly became one of the guys when Marcus started bringing her around three years ago.
James has no idea where Marcus could be, but he’s off work today and if he’s not with Roxanne then he’s probably with the other girl he’s been seeing lately. When Marcus first met this new girl he told James that he still loves Roxanne but he just wanted something new for a while. His reasoning is that this new girl was like having chicken dinner instead of the steak he had grown used to.
James brushed off his thinking and grabbed his umbrella out the backseat. Before he could get to the passenger side to open the door for Roxanne, she was sprinting to the entrance of the restaurant.
“Took you long enough,” Roxanne said to James then turned her attention to the hostess. “Booth for two please,” she smiled. As they followed the hostess to the table, James stopped walking and looked at Roxanne like he saw a ghost. “What’s wrong?”
“I think we should sit at the bar. I just remembered the friendly bet I have with my uncle about tonight’s football game,” his words seemed forced and almost uncertain. Roxanne brushed it off and agreed to sit at the bar.
Hours passed and Roxanne still has not received any word from Marcus. James and Roxanne have been sitting at the bar for hours and she has been drinking the whole time. James also checks the time and calls the waiter for their check. Then he excuses himself to go to the restroom. While he’s gone his phone vibrates his glass on the bar. Of course Roxanne is bitten by curiosity and is compelled to take a look.
Marcus: Thanks, man. IOU - twice. lol
Roxanne casts a worried look over her shoulder to see if James is nearby. There’s no sign of him approaching so she continues to go through his phone. Nothing in the sent box and nothing else in the inbox. Disappointed she puts the phone back in its place and finishes her drink.
“So you ready?” James asks as he approaches their seat. “I’ve gotta head home. It’s gloating time and my uncle has to pay up,” his gorgeous smile lighting up the bar. James’ uncle was much like a father to him since his parents passed away. He has lived with him since he was a young boy.
“Mmhm! Dinner on you? I mean, me being the struggling college student and all you can’t possibly expect me to afford all of this,” Roxanne jokes. As she stands up, they are practically nose to nose. James laughs nervously and backs away. Roxanne is only an inch shorter than he is and probably slightly heavier than him as well.
“Let’s get you home,” he sighs. Knowing that he really shouldn’t ask, he goes against his better judgment and asks anyway, “Did you call Marcus yet?”
Roxanne scoffs and heads towards the door, “No, but he says ‘thank you.”
James looks perplexed for a moment and then reaches for his phone. He follows her to his car and opens the passenger door, “Why would you go through my phone, Roxy?”
“I didn’t. It was there and so was I. I didn’t know it was there until it made noise,” she pauses, “I was only looking out for you! What if it was important?” Roxanne pouted as her soft fingers caress his face.
Almost furious, he brushes Roxanne’s hand off of his face, “Don’t do that again.” He could only be upset with himself because his carelessness could’ve blown Marcus’ cover. If Marcus thought that James spilled the beans to Roxanne, he’d probably never forgive him. Likewise if Roxanne found out he was covering for Marcus, he could lose the great friend he found in her.
Roxanne laughed, “Being drunk doesn’t make you stupid, you know that don’t you?” She was inebriated but well aware that something wasn’t right. “You ignored me earlier when I asked you where Marcus was. Why is that?” she quizzed.
“I didn’t hear you ask me about Marcus, and I’m his best friend not his guardian so I wouldn’t know where he’s been all day,” James fumed. Another lie. Lie after lie after lie he’s told to assist in building Marcus’ smoke screen. “I sent him a text telling him that I was with you and to call me when he can. That’s why he’s thanking me,” he continued. “I’m serious Roxanne; don’t go through my phone again. I would never do that to you.”
“You’re right and I apologize. I feel kind of ridiculous, I didn’t know you sent him a message,” Roxanne answered while playing with an imaginary object in her hand. “You passed my house, gotta make a u-turn.” As they rolled around the block, Marcus pulled into her driveway.
James and Roxanne got out of the car as Marcus got out of his. As the met in the middle of the driveway, they shared in an awkward silence.
Marcus
“Sup man?” Marcus and James tap fists then Marcus turns to give Roxanne a hug and kiss. “Hey baby,” he kisses her forehead.
“Hello, My Love,” Roxanne smiles. “Where have you been all day?”
Marcus ignores Roxanne’s question and directs his attention to James, “Yo, is she drunk?”
“I prefer ‘slightly inebriated’ but in answer to your question yes. Sort of,” Roxanne interrupts.
James and Marcus laugh and escort Roxanne into the house. James kisses Roxanne on the cheek and excuses himself for the night. As he walks to the door he motions for Marcus to follow him.
“Look, I can’t keep doing this. I don’t want to keep lying for you,” James hissed.
Marcus stood quiet for a second, as his brow furrowed he replied, “What are you talking about?”
“You know what I’m talking about, man. I saw you at the restaurant today when I was out with Roxy!”
“Okay, okay. Lower your voice, I saw you too. You didn’t get my text? What do you want me to say?”
“Yea, we both got your text. Roxanne went in my phone and again I cleared up your mess.”
Again Marcus was silent. He turned to face the house; through the window he could see Roxanne’s best friend and roommate Lily walking towards the couch where Roxanne was laying. “I’ll try to keep you out of it, but I’m gonna head in the house. We good, right?”
James huffed a little and shifted his feet, “We grew up together, so you already know the answer to that.” Before they parted ways Marcus held his hand out. “I said we good,” James ignored his hand and headed to his car.
Marcus blew off his friend’s anger and headed back to the house to tend to his girlfriend. Roxanne was asleep before he got into the door. He sat down next to her and rubbed her back.
“Lily, should I let Roxanne stay here or should I bring her to her room? In all the years we’ve been together, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her drunk like this before.”
In response, Lily tosses a blanket over her sleeping friend, “She’ll be alright. So how have you been?”
“Alright, I suppose. Just working and saving money. How have you been?”
“Eh, I can’t complain. Thanks to Roxanne I now have a place to stay and she even got me an interview at her school. So things are picking up,” Lily starts beaming.
Liliana
“That’s great,” Marcus stands and heads towards Roxanne’s bedroom. Standing around six four and weighing two twenty with dark cocoa skin, he shadows Liliana’s small frame.
Liliana thinks that Marcus is one of the sexiest men she has ever met. With stark white, straight teeth, it was no surprise that he was studying to become a dentist. Roxanne and Marcus make the perfect couple; equally attractive and brilliant. A dentist and a chemist could potentially do great things together.
Liliana follows Marcus towards the bedrooms, “Well good night.”
“Night.”
**** **** **** ****
The next morning Roxanne woke up to Liliana and Marcus cooking breakfast. Slightly hung over she ignored the smell and went to the bathroom. The hot water from the shower stings her body and releases the tension in her forehead and temples. The smell of biscuits and bacon begin to permeate the bathroom as her shower comes to an end.
Roxanne stares in the mirror at the dark rings around her eyes and furrows her brows. She struggles to remember how she ended up sleeping on her couch instead of in her bedroom. She dismissed her thoughts and recounted the events from last night. Roxanne ran her fingers through her tight, wet curls the pulled her hair into a pony tail.
“Good morning, guys,” Roxanne entered the kitchen and kissed Liliana on the cheek then walked towards the stove to share in a passionate kiss with Marcus. “Sorry I fell asleep on you, baby.”
“It’s alright, love,” Marcus responded. “We made you breakfast. Well, Lily did most of the work,” he laughed.
Being Brazilian and Haitian, Liliana could really tear up the kitchen. This morning she made fuba cake, bacon, and small minas sandwiches on French bread. Together they sat and talked over breakfast.
“Alright, I have to get ready for work,” Liliana sighed. “I’m so full.”
Roxanne hummed in delight, “Thank you so much, Lily. Oh my goodness, breakfast was amazing.” Marcus and Roxanne begin to clear the table while Lily disappears to her room to get herself together for work.
“Where were you yesterday?” Roxanne asked. “I needed you, and I didn’t hear from you all day but you sent James a message. What’s up with that?”
Marcus laughed almost nervously, “I had some things to do. I knew that I would see you later so when James told me he was going to pick you up, I didn’t think I would have to contact you.”
“If you say so,” Roxanne nods and heads to her room with Marcus close behind.
Before he could close the door, Roxanne pushes him against it. They slowly start to kiss and undress one another. Marcus grabs Roxanne off her feet and she wraps her legs around his thick waist. Together they fall on the bed, arms and legs tangled; their fingers are intertwined. Roxanne uses her hips to wind and tease the tip of his thick and long dick. Marcus joins the game of cat and mouse by rubbing his fat head at the slobbering mouth of her hungry cat while he bites on her nipples. She bites on his shoulder in an effort to muffle her moans of anticipation.
Liliana could hear the passion mounting in her friend’s room. She sized herself up in the mirror, rubbing up and down her slight curves. Her fingers traced her B cups and down her flat tummy. Liliana then turned her back to the mirror and peered over her shoulder to look at her small heart shaped ass.
“34-22-36,” Liliana whispered, “and still single.” She rolled her eyes and continued to dress. The sounds of pleasure started to increase. “I gotta get out of here.” Quickly she dressed and headed out the door.
Marcus started off slow, pushing his way into his Roxanne’s tight wet pussy.
